wedding day!

The big day is almost here!!!

Here are a few things to know.

Getting to the Zoo

There are several options to get to the Zoo — by car, taxi/rideshare, bus, or train. If you’re staying downtown, we’d recommend the transit, but if you’re outside of the core we’d recommend a taxi/rideshare dropoff and pickup.

If you’re driving, note that THE WEST GATE IS CURRENTLY CLOSED, so head to the North Gate.

If you’re planning to have a drink, please keep the car at home, ensure you have a designated driver, or plan to park your car to pickup on Sunday. Parking is available in the North Lot (210 St. George’s Drive NE) for $14 and you are permitted stay parked overnight.

The C-Train Blue Line takes you right to the North Gate, simply stop at and walk from Zoo Station

When you arrive, approach the admission booth and let staff know that you are here for the Renneberg Banks wedding. No tickets necessary! Note that there are however no in and out privileges.

Getting to the venue

The venue is the same for both the ceremony and the reception — the ENMAX Conservatory. It is located at the south end of the Zoo (#16 on the map, with the butterfly image).

As you will be entering the Zoo from the North Gate, it will be about a 10 minute stroll from the entrance to the Conservatory, so please keep this in mind for your planning.

Our ceremony will start at 3 pm, so we ask that you please aim to arrive at the Zoo itself by 2:30 pm so you have to time find both the venue and your seat before we start. There will be signs with our names near the Conservatory to direct you once you’re close.

Other items

The Zoo remains open to the public until 5pm, but after 6pm all our guests must remain within the reception building unless walking directly to the exits after the wedding.

A reminder that our dress code is formal, but not black tie; think long-sleeved buttoned shirts, dress pants, longer dresses — no need for a tux! Check the weather on the day as the ceremony will be outside (rain permitting, keep your fingers and toes crossed for us!), but the reception will be indoors in a climate controlled environment.

The Zoo is a smoke and vape free environment, so neither is permitted on property.
